Ambrose never disappoints! Dinner last night on their gorgeous outdoor patio was perfect! Our gracious and engaging host Jaime was so welcoming and helpful throughout our entire “unrushed” evening - as usual! Chef Stanley also provided his usual friendly service along with his outstanding, delicious food offerings. And let’s not forget Jack! Yes he’s new but this young gentleman worked tirelessly all evening (a “Jack of all trades” you might say - pun intended!) and was equally polite and helpful. You simply MUST try Ambrose! The ambiance, the food and especially the wonderful people there are second to none! Thank you Jaime and Stanley (and Jack) for another amazing evening!
This establishment represents a hidden gem within Exeter, NH. My initial experience with Hamachi was exceptional, exceeding expectations with its delicate and delightful presentation. This was followed by a remarkably velvety, rich, and delicious foie gras. The final course, a deconstructed beef wellington, demonstrated a mastery of culinary technique. For those who have not yet experienced this establishment, I highly recommend securing a reservation without delay. I have already scheduled a return visit. The chef's culinary artistry is truly outstanding, and the owners are remarkably gracious. Furthermore, the service staff consistently exhibits expertise, courtesy, and professionalism.
I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant but this hidden gem truly deserves it, from the architecture to the interior design, plus the customer service and of course THE FOOD, Ambrose excells at everything, they understand fine dinning is not just a nice place and good food but a true life changing experience! I cannot wait to come back!
wonderful delicious dinner, tapas style dinner; the 4 of us loved the small plates and shared with all -- an amazing experience for a lovely Saturday evening dinner; the dining room atmosphere was cozy in an 1800 built new england B&B;the service was A+; the food was more than sufficient when we decided to share every plate with the 4 of us; it was encouraging to see the portion size to be more European-like than the gargantuan American portion -- the highlight of each plate was the freshness of the ingredients and the subtle tastes -- imagine a date wrapped with bacon and cooked just right? We left this gem of a restaurant in Exeter New Hampshire with smiles and satisfaction of a nice experienced meal.

We were just looking for a quiet evening with friends and found this absolute gem of a restaurant in Exeter, NH. The food was perfection from the temperature to the taste. The atmosphere was like visiting a close family members home if they lived in a beautiful NE colonial. The absolute best part was the staff.
5 stars for everything!!!! The food was absolutely spectacular- everything was FULL of flavor, beautifully prepared, and came out hot. The outdoor dining area was such a great atmosphere, and the service was amazing. The owners are so personable and welcoming. Plus they have the cutest dogs! We will definitely be coming back!
What a unique spot with a truly thoughtful menu. Smaller size portions of delicious creations of the chef. Highly recommend the asparagus salad and Halibut, as well as tuna poke. Out of 7 plates that were ordered, not a single one disappointed. Great service as well.
A MUST for the best culinary experience! At Ambrose the food is not just amazingly delicious, it is art on a plate. With every bite you know that the chef poured his heart and soul into making that plate. The flavors meld so delightfully with the next. We enjoyed several tapa style dishes, every single one was beyond exceptional!!! Kudos to Hime and Stanley. Thank you for a wonderful dinner tonight! We WILL be back!
This is by far one of the best restaurants that I consistently go to last night I think was one of the best experiences I have had out of the 20+ times I have gone. Both of the owners are are absolutely amazing really friendly tentative. Even the waitress they had working last night was amazing. Everyone should be going here, they really make you feel like you are over at their homes for dinner. The food always blows me away woth how creative the owners are with coming up with food that not only looks like a work of art but it all tastes absolutely amazing. It really is some of the best food within an hour outside of portsmouth. I would best every single night there going put to eat if I could. I also always look forward to the next time I get to go back since they are always so accomodating to whatever you need.
